The building, located in a premium downtown location and combining heritage character with modern infrastructure, has been awarded the BREEAM “Excellent” certification. Moreover, the traditional wing of the office complex has recently obtained the WELL Gold certification, further strengthening its commitment to future-conscious and people-centered operations.

Developed by Europa and ConvergenCE, ACADEMIA stands out for more than just its location in the heart of Budapest’s historic and financial district, close to the Danube. Its architectural elegance and technical standards also set it apart on the commercial real estate market. The full-scale renovation completed in 2023 preserved the building’s historic character while upgrading it to meet today’s expectations in technology, comfort, and sustainability. Bright interiors, generous ceiling heights, high-quality design, premium common areas, and the WELL Core™ Platinum certification awarded to the modern wing – all now complemented by the new WELL Gold rating for the traditional wing – have contributed to the building’s success in attracting leading international tenants such as Colossyan, Hays, Kinstellar, SAAB, Shapr3D, and Roland Berger.

“ACADEMIA is a true trophy asset. Its value is supported by a rare combination of excellent leaseability, premium location, and a forward-looking, sustainable operating model,” said Csaba Zeley, Managing Director at ConvergenCE. “We acquired the property in early 2022 as a value-add investment during a period of significant global uncertainty, with the pandemic's aftermath, geopolitical tensions, energy crises, and inflation all in play. Despite these conditions, our agile in-house leasing team brought the building to near full occupancy within just 18 months. Rents have surpassed prime Budapest levels, and our tenants have strong financial profiles and long-term commitments. These results prove that ACADEMIA is not only resilient but also a top-tier long-term investment.”

Several new tenants have recently joined the ACADEMIA community, further strengthening its market position. Among them is the NATARA Group, one of Hungary’s largest wine and viticulture companies, which includes WH Winery. The group will move into a custom-designed office this autumn.

Another recent development is that both SAAB and Shapr3D have undergone significant expansions over the summer. Shapr3D now occupies a total of 2,800 square metres in ACADEMIA, making it the building’s largest tenant. The global tech company embraces an “office-first” model, and the ACADEMIA environment fully supports that approach. “The opportunity to expand within ACADEMIA reaffirms our belief that a modern, employee-focused office enhances not only collaboration but also creativity. With the building’s high-end services and innovative shared spaces, we are able to strengthen our team and improve the efficiency of our daily operations,” said Dominika Haag, Senior Office Manager at Shapr3D.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of ConvergenCE’s in-house development, leasing, and property management teams, ACADEMIA has reached nearly full office occupancy in a remarkably short time. Only one exclusive office suite of 400 square meters remains available, and it has already attracted strong interest – ensuring that ACADEMIA’s success story continues.
