A distinctive feature and main appeal of the people-oriented building, constructed to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification requirements, is a plant-filled, two-storey high rooftop greenhouse spanning the wing along the körút boulevard , and a skybar with a panoramic view to the Buda mountains.

The iconic Liberty Office Building is set for construction on the plot right next door to the Telekom headquarters, another one of WING Zrt.’s recently inaugurated major projects. Strategically located directly along the M3 metro line, it will create a gateway to downtown for those arriving from the Budapest international airport. The project is the next in a line of major developments by WING Zrt, Hungary’s leading property company.
The proposed 8-storey office building has over 40 thousand square meters of floor space and large offices with highly efficient floor plans and an optimised transportation system. The most prominent architectural features of the building include the playful, colourful ceramic facade, which also offers sun protection, and the terraces, differently shaped for each floor, overlooking the internal park. Underneath the office building a 4-storey underground parking garage with 680 parking spaces, 250 bike racks, changing rooms and showers is currently under construction.

In keeping with a green concept, Liberty Office Building is seeking BREEAM Very Good certification. In addition to a technology for energy efficiency, the building also incorporates sun traps, garden fountains and several other creative architectural solutions. The topmost floor will house an air conditioned greenhouse with plants, fountains and a footpath, as well as a panoramic sky bar and a cafe.

It is ideally suited as headquarters for a single company or for multiple tenants. In the latter case, it can be divided into sections according to individual requirements and completed in two phases, each providing 20 thousand square meters. There is already substantial interest in the office building. “Liberty Office Building is another major and iconic office building shaping the character of this developing area in Budapest to be completed to the high standard people have come to expect of WING”, said Noah Steinberg, WING Zrt.’s President and CEO.

Thanks to already completed and pipeline developments, the neighbourhood will benefit from a wide range of services in addition to the business atmosphere of the project by the end of 2020. The refurbishment of M3 metro line and the Népliget metro station will be completed, at the same time, public spaces in the neighbourhood will be rejuvenated including the already completed Orczy Garden and Nehru Park, Bakáts tér, which is currently under construction, and the adjacent Népliget scheduled for refurbishment next year. Népliget will house outdoor sports facilities, new restaurants, cafés and exhibition halls and a conference centre for cultural events. The next two years will see the construction of the new Museum of Transportation and the Opera Workshop opposite the Népliget, which represents a further major milestone in lending the area a premium, urban character. Following the success of the Telekom headquarters, Liberty Office Building represents a further major step into transforming the neighbourhood of Népliget into a prime office location of the Southern Pest office market.
